Melissa Cameron is an artist, jeweller, writer, and designer. After nearly 12 years away she recently moved back home to Perth, Western Australia.
Melissa describes herself as ‘a research jeweller’. Her interest and investigations into architecture, geometry, social justice, and the human body – influence each piece of jewellery she makes. Each piece the product of extensive research, meticulous preparatory drawings and precise execution in consciously selected materials.
We were delighted to work with Melissa on the development of ‘Juukan Tears’, an impressive large-scale jewellery installation for IOTA21: Indian Ocean Craft Triennial.
Melissa exhibits internationally, is featured in a number of jewellery collections and publications, and writes for jewellery and metalsmithing journals.
