We are an independent partnership with the aim of shining a spotlight on the professional craft sector in Western Australia. We are dedicated to promoting and amplifying high-quality craft skills, injecting enthusiastic energy and a thirst for technical and creative accomplishment. Our mission is to showcase talented makers through film, storytelling, and masterclasses, featuring specialists invited from all over the world, as well as from interstate and Western Australia. We also encourage local Western Australian makers to extend their presentation to the global arena. At Maker & Smith, we contribute our time and expertise voluntarily, and aim to make our programs self-sustaining without relying on public funding or compromising our standards. We rely on the support of mutually beneficial partnerships and pay fair fees to the skilled artisans and designer-makers who participate in our programs.
