Tineke Van der Eecken is a Belgian-born Australian artist with a fascination for the natural world. She recreates this into works in fine metals. Her narratives explore what is ‘precious’ and thus to be preserved, recorded, held.
As a jewellery designer-maker Tineke explores the rich and diverse nature of Western Australia and other places she has walked that are characterised by unique biodiversity. She creates wearable objects in fine metals including gemstones in their natural form and recreations of patters from tree bark and seeds.
Tineke trained in jewellery design and fabrication at TAFE and exhibits in solo and group shows regularly in Western Australia, Belgium and the UK. Her work has received recognition in art awards in Melville, York and as an Australian Memento.
She is an exhibiting artist in the Mundaring Arts Centre 2020-2021 programs.
Tineke welcomes commissions and delivers workshops. You can find her work online and at the following outlets in Western Australia ::
